Your going to have to go to the County Health Clinic and explain the problem. They may be the only ones that can help.I take it you are a Type 1 diabetic.
I now live in Thailand. Medical help is very, very reasonable here. America , the land that I love , has the shittiest healthcare in the world. That’s why I moved to thailand.
Now I have a Tip for you. You must find someone that is on welfare. The poorest of the poor, and put your heads together. They will give you information on how to work the system.Once you know , then thing get a lot easier. The state and federal govt. employees are trained in how to say no or deny all claims. That’s where the welfare mothers come in. This has no reflection on welfare mothers, whatsoever. It’s just they have the inside on cracking these obstacles.
Only other thing is that you may have to go to the hospital and get glucose levels checked. Fake an episode, they have to treat you.And you say you have no money .So it’s free. The insured pick up the tab.
I really feel for you.Life is very hard. But you know what, you will come through with flying colors.
Take care

Talk to your doctor. They might have samples, or ideas, or a discount card.

Contact the manufacturer of your meter using the internet. ALL manufacturers have a website!
On that website, contact them and ask about the Patient Assistance Program. Almost all medical device manufacturers have a patient Assistance Program to help people like you obtain the supplies either free or at a very low cost.

Seriously? Dude, come to Australia! We get free healthcare and necessary medication is cheap. I really feel sorry for you and the healthcare system in America
Don’t know what else to suggest, I’m just sending my love and hoping that something will work out for you! xx

Seek the assistance of either of your Congressman’s offices. Your Senator and Rep from the House of Representatives have local offices. The folks there know a little bit about everything. Bring them your denial letter and ask for help.
Your endocrinologist office staff may also be able to help you.
Also, contact the company that makes the test strips (I’ve had succss with this in the past).
You may also look for assistance at the local welfare office.
Can’t you stay on your family’s health insurance? Doesn’t you employer offer health insurance?
It may seem a wee bit extreme, but send a letter to the President (he won’t see it, but his staff will).

sadly, test strips are one of the things no one thinks needs to be covered by assistance from the companies that make them.
So here you are making just a bit too much to qualify for medicaid but not enough to cover your medical needs.
See if your insulins, syringes or pen needles, etc can be supplemented by the manufacturers and then you can pay for the test strips.
also check with your doctors office, clinic office, church, etc to see if they can supply samples or low cost free supplies.
